that would be indeed very nice, and I'd welcome it because it would make
my life easier. I didn't dare to suggest this myself, so I'm happy that
you think as well that this is a good idea :)

However it would be really useful if we could get rid of the delta
altogether currently the only left difference is that we cannot
build-depend on faad in ubuntu at all, because that library is not in
main. I'd like to investigate if we can get around this somehow: I've
seen ffmpeg is able to dlopen faad, so it does not need to depend on it.
Let's see if we can somehow drop the build-dependency as well...
