ffmpeg status?

I have to admit that I don't know exactly about ftp-master's opinion. 
I can only guess from the fact that in the past two things were done 
simultaneously in agreement with them: The stripping of the tarball 
and its renaming to ffmpeg-free, and I strongly believe this was due 
to a discussion with ftp-masters on a conference.

However, this was before I joined the ffmpeg Debian maintainers. A 
short summary of the story can be found in README.Debian...

Well, true. Non-free is not Debian and having a packages called 
'ffmpeg' in non-free and 'ffmpeg-$suffix' in Debian main sounds a 
little stupid to me. :/
