After re-installing my debian system, I noticed that the latest VLC
packages in unstable are not working properly with XVID.

[00000557] main decoder error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc
`XVID'. VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.

Downgrading to 0.8.6.c-6 solves this issue.
