Problem with ffmpeg-free

Hello,

I have a problem with ffmpeg-free and hope that you can help me solve it:

I want to use ffmpeg-free in combination with the dvdstyler-Software, a GUI
for dvdauthor (http://www.dvdstyler.de). dvdstyler needs libswscale from
ffmpeg. Unfortunately, dvdstyler crashes (because of a segmentation fault)
at some point when using libswscale from ffmpeg-free.

This problem does not occur if I use libswscale from ffmpegcvs, available at
www.debian-multimedia.org. But I would really like to use ffmpeg-free,
because I want to use as few packages from other than official Debian
repositories as possible.

Do you have an idea why the segmentation fault occurs with ffmpeg-free? What
is the difference between ffmpeg-free and other CVS-versions of ffmpeg? The
descriptions of the ffmpeg-free library packages (libswscale1d,
libavformat1d, ...) say that the packages use special versions of the shared
objects, what is special with them? Do I have to change something in the
source of dvdstyler to use these special versions?

Regards
  Christoph Pleger
