That shouldn't be a problem. In fact, I'd love to have a more or less
up-to-date snapshot in debian/experimental as well. The main thing that
has been blocking me on that is an really easy way to get an updated
orig.tar.gz I fixed that by writing some a helper script that can
produce both an 'crippled' orig.tar.gz as required per debian ftp-master
and an 'uncrippled' one which users actually want to use. Both can be
created by the 'get-orig-tar' target. The variant is choosen by looking
at the first line of debian/changelog, see the source for details.

Btw, you might or might not know, I'm using these packages for ubuntu as
well. We have something similar to debian/experimental there as well,
called Personal Package Archives (PPAs), where the package can be
updated at any time.
