Debimedia archive, was: FFmpeg release branch

Thanks that you asked. We are not ready yet, so there is not much to
announce. In essence, we envision debimedia to be an add-on repository
that:

 * only contains packages that conform 100% to the dsfg
 * is 100% binary compatible to debian
 * is officially maintained by Debian (represented by team pkg-multimedia)

None of these properties apply to any other repository we are aware of.
You might have already noticed packaging branches for xvidcore and lame
in pkg-multimedia, they are being used as source for uploads to
debimedia. We are still missing some packages that we consider important
before announcing debimedia to the public. At least I miss transcode and
dvdrip, but if someone disagrees, I wouldn't veto the announcement
either.
