In the meantime, I've updated our git repository to ardour-2.8.2.
However, that's not enough, this version still lacks the external UI
extension.

I've added the corresponding patch, so now the version in the git
repository is (theoretically) capable of running LV2fil as an LV2 plugin.

And it really is. I have the lv2fil in ardour. Note that lv2fil-2.0
needs pyliblo. Here's the conversation:

10:58 < adi> I just tried your external-UI patch for ardour with lv2fil. When I
try to open the GUI, everything hangs at 100%.
10:58 < adi> Is it normal? ;)
10:58 < adi> (100% CPU consumption)
11:00 < nedko> adi: try the git version of lv2fil. chances are that you dont
have pyliblo and the released version has not detection for this

Let us wait for lv2fil-2.1 (or whatever the release name will be). Nedko
wants to implement some improvements before putting out the new release,
and the external-UI patch probably could use some tweaks.

What I've been discussing with Nedko (expect this to be fixed, soon):

  - when removing the plugin from a bus in ardour while the GUI is open,
the GUI remains open. It's confusing. Culprit is probably the extUI
    patch

  - adjusting the values when running in ardour is jumpy. Probably
    extUI, too.

  - master section is not intuitive. The plugin should default to "on",
and the switch should be called "bypass".

  - Having a way to directly set a gain to 0.00dB, i.e. Shift+Leftclick.

Let's see.
