I'm sorry, but it doesn't cause the failure.

configuration: --enable-debug --disable-bitmap-font --disable-ggi --disable-xvid --disable-xmms --disable-arts --disable-aa --disable-mad --disable-libdv --disable-libdvdcss-internal --disable-mencoder


makes the build on mips succeed. :-(



maybe --enable-debug in combination with our debian patch that replaces
libavfoo/libavfoo.a with /usr/lib/libfoo.so?
