Bug#521249: mplayer: -slang no longer works to enable DVD subtitles

I have "slang=en" in my ~/.mplayer/config .  With previous versions of
mplayer (before upgrading to the SVN snapshot version), this would
automatically turn on English subtitles when I played a DVD.  However,
mplayer no longer shows English subtitles by default when I play a DVD.
Passing "-slang en" on the command line does not work either, nor does
"-sid 0" (for a DVD with English subtitles as sid 0).  Pressing the 'j'
key to cycle subtitle languages, and cycling them back around to
English, *does* work.
