Err, so you didn't talk to the upstream developers yet, but only some
Debian Maintainers? Please try writing to the ones that actually
maintain the mplayer codebase.

I don't think it makes sense that I do that for you, since I expect they
will definitely have questions about your work and playing mail pingpong
for you is very inefficient.
