As indicated in my previous mails, it is really pointless to try
that. Adding that to --extra-cflags just breaks ffmpeg at various
non-obvious places, so please just don't do it that way.

The proper *sic* way is to writeup a patch against the configure script
and/or the Makefile and get them accepted upstream. Then backport it to
the 0.5 branch.

Please don't try to fix lintian warnings. We are interested in fixing
bugs instead of making a checking tool happy. Really.

please explain what MANGLE does, why upstream has added it and what
changes if you leave it out.
