Can you try building the upcoming package? Should go like this:

   $ git clone 	git://git.debian.org/pkg-multimedia/mhwaveedit.git
   $ apt-get build-dep mhwaveedit
   $ cd mhwaveedit
   $ git-buildpackage --git-upstream-branch=origin/upstream

I've converted the package to cdbs, and cdbs usually takes care about
moving the outdated config.guess away.

If so, the next upload would automatically fix this bug, but I have to
know in advance to close it via changelog.

TIA
