Hi,
it's more or less the default audio API for GNOME now and for everything
GStreamer related we (the GStreamer packaging team) made PA the default
since some time already because it improves the user experience in many
ways, especially for GNOME users if most sound-related GNOME
applications make PA the default anyway.
