hi,

I did some tests today, in a uptodate Debian/sid install , and it works,
exactly as it did work (for me) in March 2007, when I added the patch.

My tests.

# mplayer -stop-xscreensaver myvideo.avi
does inhibit the gnome screensaver *as long as* the cursor is inside the
MPlayer window. It also works fine in fullscreen mode

If I omit -stop-xscreensaver , then the screensaver starts in due time.

If you add '-msglevel vo=9' it will print
"Warping cursor to disable gnome-screensaver."
whenever XWarpPointer is called. But remember that the call is
ineffective when the cursor is outside the MPlayer window ...
of course, it would be a VERY bad idea to move around
the cursor when it is in another window
(e.g. the user may end up clicking the wrong button).
