Hi, I can reproduce the problem. If I hit "o" I only see "|>" sign but no numbers. If I do ln -s /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-dejavu/DejaVuSans.ttf .mplayer/subfont.ttf I can see the position of the video properly again in OSD.
