I dont' get any error while doing apt-get update

when I try installing libavdevice52, I get following error.
$ apt-get install libavdevice52

And in the sequence, when I try to install libavcodec52, I get the
following.

$ apt-cache policy libavcodec52

Does that mean libavcodec52 is too recent, or something else?
