or even better:
 as hans has pointed out, gmerlin-avdecoder only has an optional
dependency on gmerlin.
"optional" means that gmerlin-avdecoder will build plugins to be used by
gmerlin.
i would recommend to split the gmerlin-avdecoder once more, and make it
provide a "gmerlin-plugins-avdecoder" package, that only includes the
plugins for gmerlin.

this would tighten the dependencies of libgmerlin-avdec1 itself.

i would also like to do this with the gmerlin-encoders package, and
eventually even with the gmerlin package itself
(i'm a huge fan of packages with as little dependencies as possible;
plugins allow one to achieve just this; so i'd go for it)
