Thanks for asking!

I received no comments from wxwidgets maintainers, and only a comment
from a Debian member 2 days ago stating that my patch was missing a
-dev package. I posted the patch 2 month ago, and there is not commit
in the VCS repository since January, so I doubt that anything will be
done.

What can I do? I'll check the -dev package, but I don't think this is
a blocking issue...
