​I am build outside from chroot to test build with new libsox.
it builds fine inside of chroot with old libsox.

​Can you try please
$ dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc

with orig tar.ball obtained from here:
http://cdn-fastly.deb.debian.org/debian/pool/main/b/bs1770gain/bs1770gain_0.4.12.orig.tar.gz
