Isn't there a requirement that it should be supportable security-wise
after Debian is released?
AFAIK Debian doesn't really allow non-security updates to packages in
stable, hence it'd not meet that requirement.

What about Ubuntu LTS' 5 years? By the time the LTS gets released, the
MySQL/MariaDB/Percona GA might be between 1 - 3 years old. So you'd
miss 1 - 3 years of upstream support.
