First, I am sorry for sending this so late. I had intended to send this
2 weeks ago but it got lost in the fray of a very busy 2 weeks.

We will be discussing the future of MySQL in Ubuntu at the Ubuntu
Developer Summit in Oakland, CA, this coming Tuesday (May 8), at 10:00
local (PDT, so 17:00 UTC).

I would like to invite any of you who are able to join via IRC, or if
you are in the area, come join us physically! Registration is free,
uds.ubuntu.com.

The channel will be on Freenode, and named #ubuntu-uds-grand-ballroom-b ,
and the link to the exact URL for streaming will be in the topic.

For those who have not participated in a UDS before, the audio stream is
captured from inside the room, and the IRC channel is projected on one
of two projection screens in the room, so you can listen in and respond
to the live participants via IRC.

I will be considering the future of MySQL in Debian as well, and we have
many other Debian Developers who are involved with Ubuntu, so I think
Debian's interests will be well cared for. However, I want to make sure
you, the mysql interested folks involved with Debian, have a chance
to offer any opinions you have. We will have Oracle and MontyProgram
employees in attendance, so this is a nice chance to give frank and honest
feedback and hear the actual reasoning behind what Ubuntu ends up doing.

If any of you won't be able to attend or listen in remotely, please
forward me any of your thoughts and I will make sure they are presented.
