i removed all my mysql packets (dpkg -l|grep mysql) with:

	apt-get purge libdbd-mysql-perl libmysqlclient-dev libmysqlclient16
		libmysqlclient18 mysql-client mysql-client-5.5 mysql-common
		python-mysqldb libmysql-java

still i see the dir so i issued

	rmdir /etc/mysql/conf.d /etc/mysql

then i did a:

	apt-get install libdbd-mysql-perl libmysqlclient-dev libmysqlclient16
		libmysqlclient18 mysql-client mysql-client-5.5 mysql-common
		python-mysqldb libmysql-java

and the directory was not created.

apropos, a `dpkg -S /etc/mysql/conf.d` doesn't show any packet owning that
directory while `dpkg -S /etc/mysql` shows:

	mysql-common: /etc/mysql

let me know if you need any more information.

regards,
	michael
