Ok, thanks for the info. I assume the README describes the differences
between the MariaDB LPGL client lib and the MariaDB version of the
libmysqlclient18.so library. For me it would be motivated to adopt the
MariaDB LGPL library as the primary library as soon as it better than
the MySQL version of libmysqlclient18.so. But it seems that this is
more of a long-term goal in MariaDB packaging for me.


By the way, would you like to have your package live at
git.debian.org/mysql/pkg-mariadb-client-lgpl.git ? Would you like to
officially join the MySQL packager team? We sure would like to have
you with us :)
