I would not mind it, it might come handy in some situation e.g. if a
quick security upload is needed.

In the long run though we definitely need more DDs and DMs in this
team as the packages are big and complex currently I think there isn't
enough man power here. To facilitate that we should discuss our plans
openly and actively here on the list and document stuff in good commit
messages and the wiki, that way we are transparent and inclusive. I
have for example a public todo list at
https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/MySQL/MariaDBPlan#TODO so people can
pick up task from there if they want to. Of course the bug reports
against our packages is also a good listing of things that need to
should be done.
