I can see this warning too, but I am not quite sure what to do about it.

The my.cnf that is inherited from the mysql-common 5.5 package defines
'log_error = /var/log/mysql/error.log'
The conf.d/mysqld_safe_syslog.cnf also inherited from old MySQL
packaging has the line 'syslog'.
