you should, but i believe that also has to do with how the plugins were
built, not just nagios.  in the configured nagios source, we have

=2E/common/config.h:#define USE_XPDDEFAULT 1

i think we have everything covered on our end.  so, i'm going to
reassign this bug to nagios-plugins (which is currently maintained
seperately from nagios itself) which i believe may also
need something extra in their compilation to enable perfdata
output.  if there is something else we need to do on our end,
feel free to reassign this to nagios.
