[Pkg-nagios-devel] Bug#659331: nagios3: service restart should fail when there is a configuration error

Package: nagios3
Version: 3.2.1-2
Severity: normal

The current behaviour of the init script is to quietly succeed a service
restart when there is a configuration error, but without restarting the
service.

While this prevents the service from randomly stopping, it doesn't
tell users that there is actually a problem.

The init script should prevent nagios from being restarted when there is
a config error (as it is now), but it should output the error and exit
with an error status.

One use case for this: when restarting the service through Puppet, it
believes the service restart was successful, even though nothing really
happened and there was an error in the configuration.
