> Could you please test "/usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_ping -vvv -H
> test.test.org -w 10,10% -c 10,10%" ... just to be sure.

The machine do not have internet connectivity by default. I tried
this first:

root at tjener:~# /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_ping -vvv -H tjener.intern -w 10,10% -c 10,10%
CMD: /bin/ping6 -n -U -w 10 -c 5 tjener.intern
Got stderr: connect: Invalid argument
/bin/ping6 -n -U -w 10 -c 5 tjener.intern
CRITICAL - Could not interpret output from ping command
root at tjener:~# /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_ping -vvv -H test.test.org -w 10,10% -c 10,10%
check_ping: Invalid hostname/address - test.test.org
Usage:
check_ping -H <host_address> -w <wrta>,<wpl>% -c <crta>,<cpl>%
 [-p packets] [-t timeout] [-4|-6]
root at tjener:~#

Then I fixed internet routing and tried again to test.test.org:

root at tjener:~# /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_ping -vvv -H test.test.org -w 10,10% -c 10,10%
CMD: /bin/ping -n -U -w 10 -c 5 test.test.org
Output: PING test.test.org (127.0.0.1) 56(84) bytes of data.

No idea what is going on here, nor how they are different.

Here is some more network related settings:
