[Pkg-net-snmp-devel] Bug#475158: snmpd: keeps complaining on missing /proc/ stats inside vserver flooding syslog

Package: snmpd
Version: 5.4.1~dfsg-6
Severity: normal

Hi.

The snmp daemon complains every 5 seconds or so about missing lines in /proc/stat when running inside a vserver :

Apr 9 14:26:47 vsgranulite snmpd[4458]: No page line in /proc/stat
Apr 9 14:26:47 vsgranulite snmpd[4458]: No swap line in /proc/stat

There doesn't seem to be any way to configure it so it wouldn't check these.

Even if the message is not so long, syslog becomes polluted quite fast.

Some way to suppress continuous logging of these erros, for instance by logging it only on first time would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
