Package: snmpd
Version: 5.4.3~dfsg-2
Severity: normal

On my system the snmpd did not install, failing with this error message:

make: Leaving directory `/var/yp'
dpkg: error processing snmpd (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 20
configured to not write apport reports
                                      Errors were encountered while processing:
 snmpd
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

May be it is related to having NIS here.

Patching the postinst script /var/lib/dpkg/info/snmpd.postinst as suggested
and running apt-get install snmpd solved my problem.
