I've been telling people that for years, but upstream still hasn't made
it go away... and even if they did, we could build a seperate source
package for a d-i specific ntpdate udeb.  So, while I agree this is
worth thinking about, if ntpdate is the right answer for d-i it's not a
completely bad situation.
