/etc/network/if-up.d/ntp has this in it: # remove (or comment out) the next line if your network addresses change exit 0 I found that commenting the 'exit 0' fixes the problem. My network address isn't changing when I take the wireless network down and up again, so perhaps the comment should be changed.
