The system of mine that's affected is still running etch, with ntp
1:4.2.2.p4+dfsg-2etch4.  I'll upgrade it eventually but I don't have
plans to do so right away.

I can repeat the test easily enough with that version of ntp, or if
the backport is trivial I'd be happy to try a more recent ntp.

Would that be any use ?
