That patch is included in the 4.2.8 upstream release.

Might be worth a jessie point, also there's similar crash reports
in Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ntp/+bug/1481388

I have tried the fix provided by Alexandre Detiste above and it appears to work(jessie).

Usually, ntp obtains its servers via dhcp. As soon as network-manager is
installed, this is broken, because NetworkManager disables the dhcp

network-manager maintainers do not view this as a bug in NetworkManager,
and asked to fix this in the respective packages instead. ntp is one
such package.

This is broken in wheezy, jessie and sid.

FYI, using Jessie, 
dpkg -l |grep ntp

I had the same issue, and created, as showed in this email, the /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/ntp file, and it solved the issue.

As a standard debian user, I recommend for this patch to be added to the package.
