[pkg-nvidia-devel] Bug#523853: nvidia-glx-legacy-96xx: conflicts with the xorg stack, causing uninstall

Trying to upgrade to kde4, nvidia-glx-legacy-96xx had to be removed because it conflicts with the xorg stack.

This seems to be the same problem as:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/308410

Incidentally, there is also a new upstream version available:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_x86_96.43.11.html

which I installed.  So far, and apart from plasma crashing on me a couple of times, it seems to coexist with the latest xorg stack and kde4 without any blocker issues.
