This shouldn't be assigned to nvidia-glx because that package works 
with xserver-xorg-core 1.7.4-1, so I'm reassigning this to the package 
that doesn't.

That may be, but I'm still surprised you made that determination in 
only 5 minutes.  :-/

In the meantime I guess I need to go copy all of the Debian Xorg 
pacakges that last worked with nvidia-glx-legacy-173xx before the 
xserver-xorg-core 1.7.4-1 upgrade before they're removed from the 
repos.
