I haven't taken a detailed look at the patch, but please note that
building a Debian package cannot require the Internet be available.  We
need to include everything required in the source package.

This won't work for i386, since we need to build kernel modules for the
amd64 kernel on the i386 architecture.

I think because of the need for both architectures on i386 this won't
work, but I'll have to look at the patch in more detail to be sure.
