Hello:

Just following up on the package.

As suggested by Andreas I emailed Federico on July 23rd and have not
yet received a reply. I also emailed him back on March 1st and
probably earlier too but I delete most of my emails after a certain
time so I have no records of them anymore. In addition Andreas CC a
copy of his May 3rd message to him.

Recently I noticed that with libc6 (>= 2.13-17) available in sid since
August 22nd, the amd64 version of the nvidia-cg-toolkit package
available in the Debian repositories no longer correctly installs. The
problem is that libc6 removed the /usr/lib64 symlink that was used by
the old nvidia-cg-toolkit package. The package is then left in an
inconsistent state since the headers seem to get installed but the
libraries and other files don't get installed. The i386 version seems
to still install fine but I should open a bug report soon for the
amd64 case.

I also recently noticed that the mentors.debian.net site got an
upgrade and my old package got purged. Since the amd64 version in
Debian is now broken, I decided to upload the current version of the
package that I maintain locally. The package is at:
http://mentors.debian.net/package/nvidia-cg-toolkit
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/non-free/n/nvidia-cg-toolkit/nvidia-cg-toolkit_3.0.0016-0.1.dsc

A summary of the new changes:
- Made the package multiarch. This required the package to be split
into -dev, libcg, and libcggl packages.
- Dropped the lib32 package (I still use it locally but I assumed that
it must be removed).
- Renamed the nvidia-cg-toolkit-doc package to nvidia-cg-doc (used the
nvidia-cuda-toolkit package as an example for the naming scheme).
- Add a nvidia-cg-toolkit.preinst file that was needed to ensure the
version available on Debian got correctly removed. Only affected
upgrades.

I was thinking of adding the symbols file since that is the only thing
that I could think of that is missing but I decided to wait until the
situation of the package was resolved.

Thanks for the interest in the package,
Miguel
