I usually tried to keep the previous long-lived branch in backports for
as long as it was maintainable. In the past new release branches brought
a lot of new features - and bugs, so I liked to have more than one
branch easily accessible.

But right now, I think we can bury 319.xx - does it even compile with
Linux 3.16? Maybe wait for -2 to be uploaded and migrated, though.
