Would need a bit more evidence for that to justify removing the
drivers from the archive.

Can't reproduce, installs just fine on sid amd64 both in isolation and
as part of nvidia-driver installation:

luca at luca-laptop:~$ sudo apt-get install nvidia-legacy-check
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  nvidia-legacy-check
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 0 B/152 kB of archives.
After this operation, 178 kB of additional disk space will be used.
Preconfiguring packages ...
Selecting previously unselected package nvidia-legacy-check.
(Reading database ... 159924 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to unpack .../nvidia-legacy-check_352.79-5_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking nvidia-legacy-check (352.79-5) ...
Setting up nvidia-legacy-check (352.79-5) ...
luca at luca-laptop:~$

Some more detail would be useful. Or any detail at all...
is it a clean install, or an upgrade? Desktop environment? Is i386
added as an additional arch via dpkg --add-architecture? Was the
package installed by itself, or as a result of installing
nvidia-driver? Is it a laptop with optimus? What's the nvidia
hardware? Was the package installed while running with the nvidia
driver or with nouveau? Can we see the relevant logs?

Thanks for your collaboration.

Kind regards,
Luca Boccassi
