FYI, there will be a 2.9.12 soon (later today or tomorrow) to fix the
build failure problem, the doc fixes you sent, a few tweaks to the
uninstall targets, and a patch to pkg.m that I'm waiting for David to
send.  So if you have to do much work by hand to make a Debian
package, then it might be best to wait for 2.9.12.
