I could not resist and made the changes today.  The version currently in SVN
should work with the unpacked sources.  Note that now the .orig.tar.gz
tarball is identical to the upstream tarball.  I will release this version
after testing some more packages.

We can now finally patch the fixed and octgpr packages, as well as release
the octave-forge packages without having to wait for Octave 3.0.1.
