Okay, I looked at the current octave-forge packages in Debian and the
following ones have "Autoload: yes" in DESCRIPTION:

    econometrics
    gsl
    irsa
    ftp
    physicalconstants
    image
    nnet
    data-smoothing
    parallel
    specfun
    communications
    odebvp
    informationtheory
    control
    io
    special-matrix
    odepkg
    time
    general
    octcdf
    splines
    audio
    fixed
    signal
    plot
    linear-algebra
    statistics
    miscellaneous
    ann
    ident
    struct
    financial
    outliers
    combinatorics
    ga
    missing-functions
    optim
    strings
    optiminterp
    vrml
    symbolic
    video

(Note that some of those above have not yet been uploaded.)

Only nan, sockets, and tsa have "Autoload: no". Should we create an
octave-recommended package that depends on the 42 packages above? Another
question: should we use versioned Depends?
