There was a discussion on octave-forge's mailing list how to deal with
ffmpeg. It seems ffpmeg's upstream encourages their downstreams to ship
a full copy of the library in the sources:

http://ffmpeg.mplayerhq.hu/download.html

So I thought there was an SVN snapshot of ffmpeg in octave-forge's
sources.
