The build process was killed after 5 hours of inactivity.  This is the
kind of problem that is hard to debug.

Sure, version 0.8.2-1 built successfully on lucatelli [1], even though
the unit testing failed at:

    [odepkg_octsolver_mebdfdae]
    panic: Bus error -- stopping myself...
    Bus error

This issue has been fixed by Thomas (Bug#664797) in 0.8.2-2.

As a cheaper way of trying to fix the problem, it might be indeed a good
idea to request a give back, hoping that another machine will
successfully build the package.

In the past, I used qemu for cross-compiling packages on exotic
architectures (like mips) and my recollection is that it did a good job.
