That's good to know.

As a user, my wish is for the 3.4, or even better the 3.6 to be in sid
as soon as possible. There seems to be quite a lot of improvements in
the new versions.

Thanks very for the packaging work, really! Compiling octave on my
thinkpad t43 laptop means far too many cups of coffee. :-)
