I did not package up either openMPI or MPICH, as they already exist in
debian. The standard debian openMPI package is infiniband aware, and
"just works."

I have not tested MPICH.

I also figured that most HPC sites probably compile their own
openMPI/MPICH anyhow, as sites have their own version requirements, or
need to compile in extra features such as checkpoint and queuing system
support.

The mpi-test suite is MPI agnostic; you could recompile it against MPICH
if you wish.  (I probably need to make the mpi-tests package build-able
against either MPICH or openMPI, but that is way down my priority list.)
