[Pkg-ofed-devel] Uploading new opensm packages to experimental and committing to svn

Hi everyone,

As you probably saw, a while ago I uploaded NMUs of new upstream
versions of libibumad, libibmad, opensm, infiniband-diags and ibutils
into experimental. Those have been accepted through NEW into
experimental and are working fine for me; I'd definitely appreciate
feedback from anyone else who can try these packages.

I've also since joined the pkg-ofed project and been given commit access
to the svn repository. My plan is to do some further cleanups of those
experimental packages -- in particular, I want to convert to debhelper 9
and minimized rules files -- and then check that work into svn and
upload to experimental with a normal (non-NMU) Debian version.

I've already done that for libibumad 1.3.8-1, and I will do that for the
rest of the packages as I get time. This will be much quicker since all
the new sonames have already been accepted. Once all of that is done, I
also plan to ask Ubuntu to resync with those experimental versions, so
that at least their 13.04 release doesn't have ancient opensm etc. Once
the Debian release is done and the freeze has thawed, I plan to upload
all of these packages to unstable.

Please let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions about this.

Thanks,
  Roland
