[Pkg-openldap-devel] openldap2 (2.1.30) and ldapi on etch

Hi all,

just stumbled into this last night while I was setting up a Heimdal KDC
with and ldap backend on etch (testing updated to 20061203). 
Long story made short:

- Heimdal links (for the known licensing-gnutls reasons) to
  libldap_r.so.2 of the openldap2 package which expects the ldapi:///
  socket to be in /var/run/ldapi

- Slapd 2.3.x has a debian patch to move this socket to
  /var/run/slapd/ldapi (see debian/patches/ldapi-socket-place)

So either openldap2 gets patched with a new default ldapi path or 
a note about this discrepancy should be put somewhere.
