Alas, I checked with them and apparently the funding for this work fell
through.

Steve, it looks like your submitted patch for GnuTLS support was rejected
by the OpenLDAP developers for reasons unrelated to its technical merits
(some sort of problem with how it was submitted, and questions about
licensing).  Did they ever send you mail about it, as you requested in
your message, or did it just get closed in the ITS without further
discussion?  I'm not sure if all of the history is reflected in the ITS.

Until this happens, is there a way for me to get at a read-only copy of
the repository so that I can see what the current status is?

Also, what's currently in the repository?  OpenLDAP 2.3?  OpenLDAP
upstream considers 2.2 unsupported at this point and is pushing hard to
move to 2.3.
